Our secular consecration is imbued with a Salesian spirituality. This was passed down to us from the heart of Don Bosco, through our founder Don Rinaldi, the third successor of Don Bosco.
We seek to create an atmosphere of apostolic dynamism, which is at the same time characterised by a profound interior life, both Eucharistic and Marian. We strive to create an environment that is rich in joy and optimism, solidarity, concreteness, creativity, and operosity.
We contemplate God in the face of every human being. We however assign special attention to youths. We care for them, both directly and indirectly, as well as operate on their same wavelength. We thus accompany them on an educational journey which is coloured by a family spirit and loving kindness. As Don Bosco used to say: “It is enough that you are youths, for me to love you very much” and “You are the sole and continual thought on my mind”.
As VDBs therefore, we belong to a large Salesian Family. We live in communion with the various Branches that make up this family. These include the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDBs), Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMAs), Salesian Cooperators (SS.CC.), Volunteers with Don Bosco (CDBs), and past pupils of SDBs and FMAs…
We seek to embody the lay, feminine, and consecrated aspects of the Salesian spirit, in radical donated love.
